Arenanet this is a serious question, I beg you to not close this thread aswell.
You said you needed a week for making leaderboards visible. Well, 9 days have passed and there is not even a clue of how the work is going, you just keep saying “soon/when it’s ready/blahblahblah”, but people are getting angry (and you saw it from the forum spam today), so please, do us a favor and tell us when you are going to release leaderboards, or if you are having technical issues or whatever. Just make us know, a lot of people are still playing the game just because of this stupid leaderboards, we are already frustrated enough, come on.

We will leave this thread open, but will keep an eye on it. If it will get derailed or something like the earlier “incident” will take place, we will close it immediately.

We understand that leaderboards are very important to you, but please understand that we also want to make sure they work as intended, because I am very sure incorrectly working leaderboards would not make a highly competitive PvP base happy. We will let you know when they will be going live as soon as we feel comfortable to do so.

So please keep the discussion in this thread civil and on point.

Basically what happened: We were watching the leader boards and saw a bug crop up with a small # of accounts. We held leader boards while we fixed the bug.

This sounds like you already fixed the bug, does hat mean you just keep watching leaderboards until they seem fine or is there another issue?

Yep, we watch them, make sure stuff is fine, then we bring them out.

Top 100 only? Talk about underwhelming. That’s not many players at all. At least show Top 1000. Most your playerbase are not in the Top 100. I didn’t realize you were releasing this feature to be useless to most players. A lot of people want to know where they stand and if they’re progressing, but they may not be in the Top 100.

The list will continue to be expanded over the next week, we’ve got it at the top 100 today to ensure the site handles the traffic load initially, and then we’ll continue to expand listings and search options. Fear not, you’ll be able to search regardless where you are on the ladder and know what % you fall into over-all.

They show up to 1,000 players now as of this morning, we’ll continue to expand and add search features and additional player listings over the next week or two as each set becomes stable.

^Theres a bug right now. Clicking next makes the ladder switch from Europe to NA. It happens if you change pages fast.

Folks are working on a fix for this, thank you!

Will we ever be able to see our current ranking ingame? (Say on pvp screen)

It’s highly likely we’ll do this at some point yes. This requires different folks than those who built the boards. We’ve got the people who could do that focusing instead on getting custom arenas and spectator mode completed and polished, we don’t want to take people off those projects to try and get your rank info displayed in game at this point.
