O’k first off I’m aware of the rules that arena net have been enforcing in regards to map chat, however it seems people have not been taking them seriously, or have claimed that Arena net do nothing. I really don’t believe this to be true, but I have been harassed multiple times in map chat with “your mother” comments, and being called a kitten and pretty much any other name that the persons in question can come up with.
Now I’m hoping that they will be logging into a 72 hr ban today, but I just wanted to point out that if you see this kind of thing in chat, or like me you try to defend yourself only to be bombarded with “your a whinny kitten” or “go back to wow kitten” it can become a little annoying, so to help people realize this I propose that maybe Arena net should release an update announcement? Like how we are updated on the launcher about patches, just a note to remind people of Chat TOS and that they do take each case seriously enough, people seem to think arena net are too busy with other things or they don’t ban people for “stupid” stuff like that. But as one of my friends learned yesterday when he got a notice of a 72 hr ban for chat conduct they are watching.
So I suggest people who have nothing positive to say in map chat best keep opinions to themselves, speaking friendly or joking is fine but all that garbage talk in other MMO’s don’t fly here. And just cause you report someone doesn’t make you a whinny kitten, it makes you a mature adult only interested in a civilized map chat. So any other like minded people out there that just enjoy friendly and helpful map chat? Oh and cursing is fine so long as its not directed at anyone
