In wvw when someone disconnects or leaves wvw whilst in combat then the person still gets the reward for the kill.
So the technology exists. What people are doing more and more now in tpvp is when you are going to stomp then they leave. This means you dont get the 5 points for the kill which can decide the game one way or the other (it often does).
Please put in a system where if someone dcs whilst in combat then the other team gets 5 points and players get a kill. You have the technology to do this as is shown in wvw.
Edit: I dont think I am wrong on this…I dont think you get points when someone dcs, others can confirm?
P.S. Also please actually use the technology you have to ban macro users. The time between skills should be constant for these people and again I know from pve you have the technology to ban these people. I hope you are just saving up the data for a mega ban soon but not doing anything on cheating type issue basically makes any competitive environment in this game feel lame.
