I need help with a password problem

I recently purchased Guild Wars 2 for my girlfriend right before it went off of the “half-off” sale last weekend. I made an account (although I was very sleepy) but didn’t create her a character (I wanted her to be able to do that). However, apparently I either misspelled her password or gave one I don’t remember giving because now we can’t log in.

Once again, she doesn’t have a character yet, so she can’t use the password recovery system to change it (even though she has every other piece of information sent by email). I think this reflects a flaw in Areananet’s approach, although I realize this is an unusual circumstance.

I really just want to know if there’s a way to recover her password, or did I just waste 25 dollars on what is now an an unusable account. I’m new to Guild Wars myself so I didn’t know where to go except here. Can somebody help me?

The account owner — in this care your girlfriend — can simply contact Support for help. Please ask her to click “Support” at the top of this page and then click the “Submit a request” option. She should provide as much information as possible in the web form, because that will create a ticket within the support system. Some fields may be left blank, but there are two drop-down areas that require an answer. Once she has submitted a ticket, the CS Team should be able to help her.
