Human personal story "Bad Blood" windy cave knocks you off WAY too much

The windy cave is in Lornar’s Pass. I don’t know how often the wind knocks you off when doing it outside of a personal story, but during the human personal story the wind blows far too often, making it nearly impossible to make it across.

The NPC says to watch the flags to see when the wind picks up. If you wait for them to settle down and then run, you will absolutely get knocked off. You have to run the instant the flags blow, and even then you still get knocked off half the time (assuming you don’t accidentally fall off from not running perfectly on the narrow ledge).

It isn’t fun and challenging, it is aggravating and stupid. I don’t mind a challenging fight or puzzle, but I DO mind mindless repetition of utter frustration. I hope there isn’t a lot more nonsense like that because that is definitely NOT what I bought this game to spend my time doing.

If you get knocked off during the jumping puzzle, you’ll be downed and teleported to the start. You can either bandage up and try again, or allow yourself to die and “Retry from checkpoint” which will set you past the jumping puzzle.

I just tried it right now and it worked correctly. Note that the wind must blow at least once for the safety checkpoint to be enabled—you can’t just leap into the chasm to bypass the puzzle. Also, note that I’ve done this step dozens of times with no speed boosts/leaps/skills at all. You do need to stop about halfway across (behind the wall), there isn’t time (7 seconds between gusts) to run the entire way in one go.

It was added in the 10/1 update I believe.
