How long to get a response to ticket?

I first started trying to change the email address for my account on 2 November. After a little to-ing and fro-ing I was asked to submit a new ticket as for some unknown reason the 4-digit code on my account had changed so I needed to submit a ticket for that account instead. I duly did this and received the automated “request received” email on 12 November, but have heard absolutely nothing since. There doesn’t appear to be any way to track the progress of my request, and although the FAQs say to update my existing ticket rather than creating a new one, I can only see the new ticket creation on the form, nowhere to add the existing ticket number to update and no separate update form.

Is it always this slow to get a response, or has mine been delayed because I submitted two tickets – at ArenaNet’s request – for the same thing (albeit it for 2 different accounts as far as they’re concerned)?

I logged a second ticket at the same time to add the serial code to my account, because this hadn’t been done and again there appeared to be no way for me to do this myself – though I could have sworn I’d seen it in the account management tools in the past (and I didn’t want to risk delaying the email change even further by confusing the issue with two issues in one ticket). Again, beyond the automated email there has been no further contact since 12 November.

To be honest I’m getting pretty annoyed. I can still log in with my old email but it’s been over a month since I first started trying to make what should be a very simple change – updating my account email – and it’s still not resolved.

Most issues are resolved in a few hours, 24 hours at most. But some take considerably longer, it’s true.
