Hello there! Bought a brand new computer to play GW2 on. Now my problems starts when I try to download the update. Firstly, I was able to download the game itself with no problem I let it download all night, but when I try to update the game the client goes 0/0 and goes to the login screen, it starts to download and gets to 20mbs completed 19 files remaining and gives me “Download failed! Please check your internet connection and try again, (2).”. Any solution? I mean, it lets me download 20 mbs and just cuts me off and gives an error. I attached the -log -diag info. Any help would be much appreciated. Also, I don’t use a router the modem is directly connected to my PC.

I’ve tried:
Disable Windows Fire Wall
netsh winsock reset
Graphics card backdated drivers
UAC
Safemode

Hi Xeromedes – I’d like for you to first try a Winsock reset. To do this, please try the steps below:

1. Click the “Start” button to bring up the Start Menu.

2. Type in CMD into the “Search programs and files” field but do not hit enter. Doing this will change your start menu to show the program “cmd.exe.”

3. Right-click on “cmd.exe” and select “Run as Administrator.”

4. Type “netsh winsock show catalog >C:\LSP.txt” without the quotes. This will save a file to the root of your C drive called LSP.txt. You do not have to provide this report.

5. Once complete, type “netsh winsock reset” without the quotes. When the command is completed successfully, a confirmation appears, followed by a new command prompt line.

Once completed, please try connecting again.
