Hello,

I have achieved the GWAMM title in GW1 recently and it does not appear in GW2 at the moment.

I have tried to talk to Kimmes the Historian in both GW1 and then on GW2 and this did not change anything. All of my other rewards are there.

Can you help please? Thank you.

Thanks for submitting a ticket. I generally suggest that a player wait 24 hours, because sometimes it takes time for things to “reset.” I also recommend fully logging out and logging back in, as well, but I assume you tried that… perhaps multiple times.

In your discussion with Customer Support, an agent may ask for permission to access your account in order to review your title history. Don’t worry, that’s legitimate, and we will not ask for (or need) your password or other credentials. We also will not ever ask this in the game, so if someone asks, ignore!

I just wanted to mention that, rarely, we do need to access in order to see things from your viewpoint.

I’m going to see if I can find out anything more about this. I hope to have a bit of info tomorrow.

I wanted to note that I merged two similar threads to try to keep the reports in the same thread.

Hey Nauticus – may I have your ticket number? I want to make sure our agents are giving the best advice, and I need to determine if this is a one-off situation, where we can help individual players with an account-based issue, or if this truly is a systemic issue that would warrant an in-game report.

Thanks for that info!

SpudBob – I cannot located a ticket related to this display name. Please provide your ticket number.

Papi — I cannot located a ticket related to this display name. Please provide your ticket number.

Nauticus — you were given an inaccurate or incomplete answer. I’ve flagged your ticket for review.

chezzepticon and Sai Locke — I believe we may have another process that we can undertake to try to help, even while the devs are reviewing this issue, as you were told. I’ve flagged your ticket for review.

poptsot — According to your ticket, you were told that this was a known issue and that the developers were working on a fix. That’s true in this case. I’m a little confused about what you said, because you were not told to report in the game. In any regard, I will flag your ticket in case there’s a better answer.

Thank you Gaile for taking action on this if you found the ticket number. In case you haven’t it’s 760757.

Thanks for that. I had found the ticket, but I always appreciate having the number, it makes it easier to review.

I still feel you’re not getting the right response and I want to give you an extra helping of Enchantment of Apology, +20 to “We’re really sorry!” What the team should be doing is working with you first to make sure that you have the proper titles and then, if you do, there’s a process the agent can take that could make an adjustment that allows the title to reset or, in very outlier cases, to review the account from another vantage-point.

I’m actively bending the ear of an agent and a lead to get that first response out to you, so I think you’ll hear within minutes of my writing this. If not, someone is off the doughnut list for a full month!

But seriously, if you haven’t made progress by this evening (I am writing this Thursday at 1:45 PM) let me know. At the very least, the agent will get through Step 1 and at that point, if the titles are properly attained, can move to Step 2 or 3, as needed.

Ok, so here’s the latest, as of this morning. With the cooperation of a couple of players, we’ve examined this on the back-end and then on an account-side basis. This means an agent has logged into the account and collected data on it. (Don’t worry, this is entirely secure and the account owner gave permission in advance. We never ask for and do not need a password — so again, never reveal your password to anyone, including someone who purports to be from ArenaNet or NCSOFT. )

So, the update:

  • We have collected enough data now to move forward.
  • At this point, we believe that this is a bug.
  • It seems to be affecting players who recently obtained their GWAMM title.
  • The bug report has been filed with QA and it will be reviewed as soon as possible.
  • We’ll roll out the fix and I’ll update this thread.
  • Then, if you still have an issue with your GWAMM title, we’ll ask you to submit a ticket.
  • At this time, you don’t need to submit a ticket because we’re working on a fix that should positively impact all affected accounts.

Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for your reports and the info you shared here — it helped us greatly. (I’ll update here if we have further questions, as well.)

I do have something information to add though I’m not sure how helpful it will be. In my case, I got my gwamm title more than 2 years ago, possibly 3 years so that would count out bullet #3 on my half. Even though my gw2 account is almost 2 years old, I only recently started playing due to computer specs requirement therefore I never spotted the problem until now.

Thanks — that’s good to know and I appreciate you adding it to the thread. My belief is that a fix of the bug will fix it for everyone, but I like having that extra tidbit of info. What I find interesting is that you earned the title some time ago, but only started using the account recently. That could be consistent with “new obtainers” in that it wasn’t previously displaying because you hadn’t attempted to do so.

I’ll include this detail when we have more info back from the teams working on the issue.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the kind thoughts — they warm my heart.

I just checked and there’s no update, but I do know for certain this is entered as a bug and I know to whom it’s been assigned. I will try to check with him later in the week just to see if I can learn more about this.

We appreciate your patience. But then, if you’re GWAMMs, you have already proved you have extreme patience, stick-to-itiveness, and general awesomeness.

Update 05 August 2014

I wanted to let you know that while a lot of the GWAMM issues were addressed last week, we are aware that a few of our players still are having issues displaying their hard-earned (and well-respected!) God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals title.

This is a known issue and it is on the list for a fix. We will include notes about this fix in the Update Notes for the build in which we are able to fully correct this issue. You do not need to submit a ticket about this, the next (and hopefully final ) fix will set things right for everyone.

So, please:

  • Watch the update notes for upcoming builds.
  • After you see this fix in the notes, check your account and see if your title is showing.
  • Submit a ticket at that time _if you still are having difficulties with your title. However, according to the devs, the fix that is going out should get everyone in spiffy shape.

Thank you, once again, for your patience with this matter!

As you may know from your ticket response, this is a known issue and it definitely will be solved in an upcoming build. You should not be required to submit a ticket about this, but instead the “fix” will automatically correct the issue for you.

So it’s going to take a bit more patience — for which we thank you! — but it will be corrected and your title will display properly when the change it made.

One question:. Will the Title automatically update or will I have to log back into Guild Wars/do anything extra for it to display in Guild Wars 2?

Once the build goes out with this fix, your title should appear automatically. If it does not, I recommend that you do as you suggested and go to Guild Wars and speak to Historian Kimmes then check back in GW2. If the title still does not show up — which I think will be unlikely — please submit a ticket at that time.

Thanks again for your patience.

Sorry, no. But I believe it’s coded and in testing, so I don’t think it’ll be weeks and weeks.

So glad that everything is sorted out for you! The devs told me the fix might go out with the build, and I’m glad you guys can proudly sport your spiffy title!
