I’m trying to download GW2 and it won’t finish downloading, it just stop’s and I have to keep restarting the download from “0”. I turned my firewall off and I don’t run anti virus software..
How can this be fixed?? I’m using the launcher.. help.
I don’t have the DVD, I lost it so that’s not an option.

Thank you

Hi zamien,

I’d like to collect a Game Advisor report so I can look into why you might be experiencing this issue. You can download the Game Advisor application at the link below:

Please note that you will be automatically prompted to install Game Advisor upon clicking the link. Once you’ve generated the report, you can attach it to this thread by clicking “More posting & formatting options…”

Hi Chiavari – I’d recommend starting with disabling both McAfee and MSE. Please note, we are not asking you to run your PC without any security software. We simply need to verify if this application is blocking access and often, temporarily removing the application is the only way to do this.

Hi claurence – There isn’t a “pause” button though if you simply close out of the installer, the next time you launch the client it should continue where it left off. When you do this, the application will scan the already downloaded files to make sure they are intact. Once the files are scanned, the download continues. The confusion comes from how the “scan” appears in the launcher. When this process is taking place it will look like it is downloading the files again, complete with “download speeds.” However, if you notice the download speed, it should be much faster than your Internet connection. This is because the launcher isn’t actually downloading the files from the Internet but is instead, scanning the files inside the GW2.dat file. Once the scan completes, the download resumes and your actual bandwidth is used.
