I have some questions: what is the purpose of asset kit and why it was named so? I could see that currently, inside, are some images. Initially, I tought there were some obj or fbx 3D models, which devs have given to players for creating their own GW2 storyes, animations or fan game.(fan-made content) Asset usually means a game component : script,image,sound,music,3D model etc…

From the Asset Kit web page:

ArenaNet is pleased to provide the Guild Wars 2 Asset Kit, a collection of visual assets related to the upcoming Guild Wars 2. This material is intended to help you communicate information about Guild Wars 2 and to create compelling content related to the game. If you’re looking for official GW2 visuals for your blog, fan site, website, magazine, publication, or project, these graphics are here for your use.

That kind of says it all, really.

The term ‘asset’ does not actually “usually” mean a “game component.” The term is used in a variety of fields to describe different components or materials. For example, in web design, the term ‘asset’ can be used to refer to images, text, media (video, audio), and so on.
