Guest vs Transfer

Clicking “Guest” generates an obvious, intentional, look-at-what-you’re-about-to-do confirmation from the game.

Clicking “Transfer” does NOT generate a confirmation; instead, it transfers you. Period. It just take the gems and your kitten is on the server with no recourse for 7 days.

Was it my fault? You betcha. I own it. I made a mistake and I paid for it. Literally. Am I ticked beyond words? You betcha. But at this point I’m not certain who I’m more angry with…

I’ve sent in a ticket basically begging you folks to keep my money and transfer me back to my home server b/c I lead a WvW guild. I did this yesterday, the moment it happened. No response. Still. Not even an automated “we got your ticket” email.

I’ve tried registering on the support site and apparently my email isn’t recognizable, even though I use it to log into everything else GW2 related (unless the support site is down, which I doubt :/).

I don’t know what else to do other than wait 6 more days and pay for yet another transfer back to where I belong and chalk it up to a lesson learned. One thing is for sure, I won’t Paypal my way to gem purchases that exceed 1000 gems ever again.

:/

Feramoan (clever name, btw) — I am sorry this happened. And I’m concerned that you did not get the auto-response. I’d even wager that an agent has responded to you, too, so something is blocking our mails. Please check Junk and Spam. I really believe you’ll find one, probably two mails. (What’s your 12-digit ticket number?)

As for your suggestion, I see your point very clearly. Please, may I ask that you share that in the Suggestions Forum? I will be happy to point out the difference in our two systems — and your thoughts about a “confirmation” — to the devs, but it would be nice to have your thoughts on that forum so that I have that background to point to.

I’m not sure that the account is considered “ineligible” as that we’re not able to offer that service. I seldom discourage someone from asking, because there may be elements I don’t know about that prompt a different response. However, I think the process of a server reset is simply something we do not do.

Which, perhaps, adds even more weight to the suggestion for a confirmation process. That is not to say that clicking “Yes, I confirm” will stop all unwanted transfers. But if we can cut them down, and if players know they set it up and confirmed, I think that would be better. (The foregoing was a personal opinion, and does not necessarily reflect those of the dev team nor the ability to add such a feature to the game! )
