Hi, I’ve also posted this in lenovo forums, but still hoping someone would help me here.

my problem is that my laptop is only using “Intel Graphics 4000” instead of its “2GB Nvidia GeForce GT720M”

my Laptop is Lenovo G400s
specs : Processor : Intel® Core™ i5-3230M Processor (3M Cache, up to 3.20 GHz)
Memory : 4GB DDR3
Hard Drive : 500GB
Graphics : 2GB Nvidia GeForce GT720M
Display : 14-inch WXGA LED Display
Optical Drive : SuperMulti DVD Drive
Battery : 6-cell Battery
OS : Windows 7 Ultimate

I’ve posted my problem here because I am a player of GW2 and I do get a random crash from time to time especially on WvWs and Major boss events. I don’t lag or my laptop doesnt slow down from mega mobs

I’ve already done the following :
reinstalled my GW2,
-uninstalled & disabled Intel Graphics Card (still didnt work)
-changed through BIOS (still intel Graphics HD 4000 is still showing)
-installed and updated my graphics card “2GB Nvidia GeForce GT720M” still the -windows select intel graphics hd 4000 rather than my nvdia
-selected power plan to maximum
-alread did through nvidia control panel through “manage 3d settings” and “set phyx configuration”
-dxdiag still shows display device is still Intel HD Graphics 4000

can anyone help me? please thanks

I need an answer for "how do I get my “2GB Nvidia GeForce GT720M” to show on dxdiag and fully work, because my windows only chooses the intel graphics card?

Hi Flash,

Most laptops with a discrete and an onboard graphics card will usually show the Intel card in the DxDiag first. However, if you scroll down to where it says “System Devices” in the DxDiag you should see the Nvidia card listed. This does not mean that the client is not using your Nvidia card, and so is there some other reason why you think your Nvidia card isn’t being used?
