Good Suggestion so people don't go as crazy

My suggestion is, when the servers are down for any sort of maintenance, please put in a large banner on the main page of the GW2 website that the servers are down.

This would keep people like me from thinking it is my computer that is having the issue and re-downloading the game because it doesn’t seem to be working.

I spent three hours redownloading only to find out from deep in the forums that the servers are down for maintenance.

If I had known that from the beginning, I would have just gone and done something else rather than trying to hunt down a solution to a non-existant problem….. :/

The forums were offline during the outage. But it appears you could load the website, right? (Not a cached form, but the real deal?) Back in the day, we have a “Network Updates” page, and that was used as you described. I’ll ask the Web Team if they think that may be something we want for the future. It’s up to them, but I understand the request and am sure they’ll be happy to listen to the suggestion.
