This thread will be a lighthearted collection of the funniest things you have heard in pvp and the biggest fails you have seen. Dont put any specific names or guilds in your story.

Ill start it off with one i can think off the top of my head. My last game in team arena I had a thief say “We should try capturing the points this game guys” to his team. The way she said it was like it was something she just thought of. We lost that match

Had a warrior tell a thief to bunker home because thats what thieves are good at – dude was serious

Had a warrior say his only job was to support with banners, thats it. Thats all he did.
dude was full banner warrior with healing surge.

Had a guy tell our team his job was to stay in base and protect boss all game on foefire. Ill tell you one thing, that boss didnt freaking die all game. He did his job kitten well even tho no one ever went to base.

Whats yours

This post isn’t about the funniest thing you heard on the forums or an live stream. If you want to post a bitter comment use the other 4000 threads like that.

Funniest thing I’ve ever heard in PvP?

Hard to say. Map chat in Anvil Rock’s Heart of the Mists at launch was like the wild west. I’m sure we could fill a few pages of quotes.

Seconded but what happened on Anvil Rock stays on Anvil Rock.

Recently though for me, I was in a temple match and there was this warrior on my team whose armor looked just awesome; I got the feeling from this that he was at least a good player. Before the match we got to experience him communicating with the team.. but in his own secret language known only to himself. From this we knew he was confident in his own abilities. Anyways once the match started he successfully captured home point and held it until the 8:30 mark. He valiantly defended the point as our team lost Tranquility. At this point in time he stated in team chat, “NME GOT OP BUFF”. After successfully communicating this to our team he immediately jetted for the ice cave. He was friendly enough at this point to also communicate to us that he would now defend the ice cave area as if he thought the buff would be respawning any time soon. He had banners popped and he was now roaming literally moving around the entire time)the ice cave. Despite our desperate attempts from our team to get him out of the ice cave, we were unsuccessful. As the game ended he left us with “where buff?”

..we went from a 250 point lead to losing the game

His noteworthy accomplishments and communication were remembered from that day.

Recently I was in a TSS solo arena match and before the match started there was this warrior communicating with the team.. but in his own secret language known only to himself. From this we knew he was confident in his own abilities. Anyways once the match started he successfully captured home point and held it until the 8:30 mark. He valiantly defended the point as our team lost Tranquility. At this point in time he stated in team chat, “NME GOT OP BUFF”. After successfully communicating this to our team and before recapping the node he just lost from the buff, he immediately jetted for the ice cave. He was friendly enough at this point to also communicate to us that he would now defend the ice cave area as if he thought the buff would be respawning shortly. He had banners popped and he was now roaming the ice cave. Despite our desperate attempts from our team to get him out of the ice cave, we were unsuccessful. As the game ended he left us with “where buff?”

His noteworthy accomplishments and communication were remembered from that day. The experience was logged and recommendations on improving the learning experience for that map was forwarded along
