I have been on the Tarnished Coast server since pre-launch. On that server, I am an officer in a guild that has over 50 people in it. I am very active in WvW and enjoy collaborating with my fellow guild members on a nightly basis.
On the Tarnished Coast server, in Metrica Providence, there is a skill point that has been bugged for the last ~3 weeks. The NPC that gave the challenge, would die, by the first group to trigger the event, and then would never res. So only 1 group was able to get the skill challenge per server reset.
I went on to complete the rest of the world map until the only thing standing between me and my world explorer title was that skill point. I was talking to some people on Map chat and someone mentioned that this has been an issue for so long, the only way to get world completion is to transfer to another server, get the skill point, wait 24 hours then transfer back. I thought this sounded like a good idea, so I transferred to the Kaineng server, and 2 minutes later had my world explorer title. Yay!
Right after this (5 minutes after I had transferred) I checked the Tarnished Coast server, and found that it was full. I panicked. I submitted a support ticket and the person who responded was very friendly, and tried to be helpful. They suggested I get my guild to switch servers while switching is still free. Unfortunately, since my guild is rather large, it is not practical for me to have them do this.
So my question is, is there any hope for me to be able to rejoin my guild on the Tarnished Coast server, or am I doomed to wander the world of Tyria alone for eternity? Is there any future fix that could help me with this? I understand the technical limitations surrounding server capacity, and I understand I made a foolish choice, but I’m just wondering if there is any hope for me. Any thoughts, suggestions, or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.
