friends account has been stolen

So today my friend and I decide to play some GW2 after a substantial break, I am able to login fine etc, but he isnt able to. Password recovery etc fails. I login just now in fact and see that his account is online and with a level 80 elementalist ( we only got to level 60 before stopping ). I know this friend in real life, so he isnt trolling me. His account has been stolen and is even now being used by someone else.

1. Can a GM please address this issue ? the ‘friend’ name is ‘Tha Semtex’ ( semtex.3752 being the level 80 elementalist ). on the server Yak’s Bend.

2. I am happy to provide other details of the true owner of this account, and he has submitted a support request as well.

You mention that your friend has submitted a support ticket. That is exactly the right thing for him to have done, so I’m sure he’s well on the way to a resolution of this situation.

As a reminder, the forums are designed for follow-ups (after three days in the specific thread) and for general questions of an account nature. But we specifically do not encourage a “submit-and-immediately-post” culture or for a friend to follow up on someone’s ticket unless it’s seriously delayed. Most tickets are being resolved in a matter of hours.
