^ you only need the serial code for the automated password reset process. Support can use other information to verify you for the password reset. Just send them an email, preferably from the email account that matches your guild wars 2 account.

This says it in a nutshell. There are very few cases in which having a serial code was the “deal breaker” for retrieving an account. (And those generally involved disputed ownership where two people claimed to own the account, a situation that doesn’t appear to apply to you, thank goodness!)

If you need help, we’ll use as many means as possible to help you. But I do like the advice to Save all serial codes just in case. It’s a good practice for any software, I feel.
