This is the second day in a row that I have been unable to login and play the game. I get to the character selection screen and after selecting one and trying to play I get this error. I have done everything that has been listed so far, the “/clientport 80” trick, flushing dns, changing to google dns server, forwarding ports in my router, turning off antivirus and firewall, but nothing works. Please help!

Hi Ukie – Have you tried disabling your User Account Control?

Windows Vista:
1. Go to your Start Menu and then select the Control Panel.
2. Type “UAC” with the magnifying glass.
3. This will bring up a link below labeled “Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off.” Click this link.
4. Uncheck “Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer.”
5. Click the “OK” button.

Windows 7:
1. Click on the Windows Start button.
2. In the search box type ‘UAC’.
3. Click on ‘Change User Account Control Settings’.
4. Move the slider down to ‘Never Notify’
5. Click the “OK” button.
6. You will then be prompted to reboot your computer.

Please reboot your computer at this time. Once your computer has rebooted please try logging into Guild Wars 2 again.
