It looks like the email authentication is broken and does not send out emails to your email address. At least a few German users have that problem.

It broke down within the last two weeks, as I logged in fine, from another than my regular IP, two weeks ago.
When will this be fixed?
I don’t think that we should disable a security feature just to make it run from other IPs.
(and using the mobile app is no alternative for a broken feature that is supposed to work and protect the customer)
