Greetings Citizens,

On Tuesday, we successfully completed our first test session for the new “Edge of the Mists” WvW map! To all of you who were able to attend: Thank you! We gained a lot of insight from our first day of testing, and we’re really looking forward to seeing what advancements we can make on the map with your help.

As a note, we’ve invited a very small amount of guilds to the first week of testing as we want to ensure that the map is stable before we start pushing it to its limits. In the coming weeks we’ll begin to ramp up our testing by inviting additional guilds, so if you signed up, keep an eye on your inbox for an invite!

We’ll be running another test today between 2pm-6pm PST. Keep an eye on the official forums and other Guild Wars 2 communities as players relay their experiences with the new map. Even if you’re not currently involved in the test program, we’d love to hear your feedback on what you have seen from videos/streams.

We’ll see you on the battleground!

As a reminder for invited guilds, tomorrow’s test will take place between 2pm-6pm PST.

For those of you who haven’t received an invite, don’t give up hope yet – We’ve quadrupled our number of invited players since last week’s test.

Citizens,

We have invited 1000 additional guilds to the public testing of Edge of the Mists. Please have your guild leaders check their email inboxes! If your guild didn’t make it in this round, don’t lose hope! We’ll be adding more guilds in the coming weeks.

For those of you already invited, we’ll be running two tests today:

9AM-11AM PST
5PM-9PM PST

Thanks again everyone! We look forward to seeing you in Edge of the Mists.

Hey folks,

If you received an invitation that asked for any passwords, it’s not from us. We never ask for any passwords. Please report any emails that ask for passwords to GW2 Support.

There is a hidden section of the guild roster sheet that says passwords, but you’ll note it says for internal use only. That is for us to use for when we invite your guild! Please do not open or fill in the sections that say internal use only.

We do ask for your account number (Username.####) for our reference and any email address. This does not, I repeat, does not have to be the same email as your Guild Wars 2 account. This is how we give you an account for the Edge of the Mists test, which is not accessed from your retail client.

I hope that clarifies any concerns.

Our guild (Make Your Choices [SAW]) was chosen but i’ve some problem to enter in the new map.

Is it working now? (i think it’s the right time). How can i enter exactly in the new map? It appears in the www menu? (i don’t see it now)

Thx

You have to follow the instructions in the email provided and send us a roster list of everyone in your guild whom is interested in the test. From there, we’ll work towards giving you an account so you can download the client.

For those concerned, the email we’re sending all documentation related to the test from is [email protected]. It wouldn’t hurt to add both that address and [email protected] to your email contact list to avoid problems receiving our emails.

As another clarification, there is a hidden section of the guild roster sheet that says passwords, but you’ll note it says for internal use only. That is for us to use for when we invite your guild! Please do not open or fill in the sections that say internal use only. We’re going to remove that part of the roster sheet from future invitations just to clear up any confusion.

As a future reference, to those who have yet to submit a roster, please be aware that you must fill out the entire roster for every member you want added to the test. (Except, of course, the aforementioned “Internal Use Only” section.) If you don’t provide an email address for everyone, we can’t invite them.

If you forgot an email address, please re-send the roster with the appropriate email addresses.

When is the next test date? Just curious (we’re rounding up the necessary info as per the note fyi)….

We haven’t announced anything for next week quite yet, but when we do I’ll be sure to post it here!

It’s perfectly fine to have your name be in both the guild representative/leader slot and in the roster, too.

In regards to people in multiple guilds whom were both invited: Please include your information with ONLY ONE GUILD. This will make the process a lot easier and we’ll be able to get your credentials to you faster.

We’ll be announcing a schedule soon, so stay tuned

In regards to Yahoo emails, yes, it applies to .uk as well as SBCGlobal emails.

I don’t believe we’ve had issues but every college email is different. You can get an email from live.com or gmail.com for free and those seem to have the least problems, tell him to try that if he’s concerned.

And yes, NA and EU testers are on the same server.

Hey everyone,

If your guild submitted a roster sheet to us, you should have received your credentials along with other juicy/very information stuff!

I’m going to channel my inner Oprah and say CHECK YOUR INBOXES!

A 1000 guilds have been invited. The guild i’m in is one of the biggest active WvW guilds currently on SoR with both NA and EU coverage, and yet not invited yet.

Really makes me wonder how much RNG Anet’s selection process is.

Helioz has been invited — an email was sent to one “Green Arrow”. I suggest you tell them to check their email.

Email addresses are necessary for our process — just as how it was necessary for when you first registered your Guild Wars 2 account. You may need to add both [email protected] and [email protected] to your safe list/contact list/etc in order to receive the essential emails you need to participate in the test.

So now it should be clear but if you have any problems with authorization e-mails check your blocked lists specially if you’re client of those Microsoft e-mail services.

Out of curiosity, have you had any issues after this when it comes to our emails being put into your spam/blacklist folder?

We received a very large amount of roster sheets over the weekend and so we’re working to get through them all as fast as possible.

Thanks for your patience!

We’re getting ready to send a big batch of credential emails to folks in guilds that got the “Roster Received” email.

To guilds who have submitted rosters and have yet to get that email — do not worry! We have a lot of rosters to process and we will get to yours eventually. We ask for your patience and hope to have everyone in as fast as possible.
