I placed bids on a few things and they disappeared from my items I am buying list and they are now on the items I bought list— but they never became available for pick up.

Is this just a delay that I have never experienced or is my money gone?

Have you tried clearing out your pick up tab? If you have a lot of items waiting to be picked up, no more items you have bought will appear until you have cleared it out.
