Blizzard Post

An issue with the Commander Compendium refunds has been addressed (9/15 2:30 PM PDT). If you still believe that you have not received the refund that you should have, please submit a support ticket so that an agent may review your individual case.

Please do not post bug reports in this thread. This thread is meant to assist those with customer support inquiries related to the 9/9 Feature Build. If you have encountered an in-game bug, please submit an in-game bug report and/or post in the Game Bugs forum with information relevant to the bug you encountered.

If you have feedback related to the 9/9 Feature Build and its contents, please either create or find a thread that is relevant to the topic that you wish to deliver feedback about and contribute your ideas there. Feedback and design decision inquiries cannot be answered by the Support Team.

Hi all,

We’ll be communicating with you here regarding the 9/9 Feature Build. If you have questions, go ahead and shoot them here and we’ll do our best to answer them. Please check the FAQ that I’ve included on this post first to see if your question has been addressed already.

FAQ:

COMMANDER TAGS -

Q: “Why can’t I use my commander tag on my other characters?”

A: To enable the account-wide tag, you need to log in to your character that had consumed the Commander’s Compendium prior to the 9/9 feature build going live and turn the tag on. Once you have done so, the rest of your characters on your account should be able to use the tag as well.

Q: “Where’s my refund for excess consumption of Commander Compendiums prior to the feature build’s implementation?”

A: Refunds were distributed via in-game mail within 48 hours from the build going live (roughly 12:00 PM PDT). If you have not received your refund, please submit a ticket at our support site so that we can investigate further.

Guild Wars 2 Support Site: https://help.guildwars2.com/home

CRASH/FREEZE WHILE PATCHING -

There is a known issue causing crashes when the launcher is patching. Keep an eye on the following thread for more information regarding this issue: https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/support/tech/New-Patch-CoherentUI-Host-exe/first#post4380276

MINIS -

Q: “Where are my minis?! They aren’t available for use in the new Miniatures section!”

A: You have to get them from your bank under the Material Storage section. Do note that once you take them out of storage that you will not be able to deposit them again. You will have to account-bind the mini once you get it out for it to appear in the Miniatures section. Once you choose to bind the mini, it will disappear from your inventory and become available in the Miniatures section.

Q: “I keep receiving a message stating, ‘Miniatures have been hidden due to rising player population’.”

A: This feature is working as intended. If you have feedback regarding this feature, please contribute (constructively) to the following thread: https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/game/gw2/Miniatures-Have-Been-Hidden/

Q: “What is the procedure for requesting refunds of minis?”

A: The only miniatures that are eligible for refunds due to the implementation of miniatures into the wardrobe system are multiple purchases of guaranteed minis.

As an example, the Spooky Ghost, Spooky Skeleton, and Spooky Spider are all guaranteed minis that can be obtained by opening the Miniature Spooky Trio pack, meaning the player knew specifically which minis they would be obtaining upon purchase of the pack. If you have two or more of each of these minis, then you would be eligible for a refund. NOTE: Purchasing multiple of these packs in order to obtain a different mini that could only be acquired by putting the others into the Mystic Forge (such as Chainsaw the Skeleton in the previous example) does not make one eligible for a refund. If you are eligible for a refund based on the criteria above, please submit a ticket using the support interface via the following link: https://help.guildwars2.com/anonymous_requests/new . Please select In-Game Issue from the drop-down menu for this type of request. To help expedite the process, please list the minis and/or the name of the pack that the minis came in so that the agent can confirm that they are eligible for a refund.

Minis that were not guaranteed, such as minis obtained from the Minis 3-Pack (Set 1, Set 2, Set 3), are not eligible for a refund.

Hi, I’ve been unable to download the patch due to “Coherent UI” crashing. This is apparently an issue for a number of people on the Reddit GW2 Forums as well (http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2fxla3/coherent_ui_has_stopped_working/).

Any idea what’s causing this?

We’re looking into this at the moment. Keep an eye on this thread for this particular issue: https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/support/tech/New-Patch-CoherentUI-Host-exe/first#post4380276

Hi,

Will anet be refunding people who had bought several commander tags before the patch?

Players who purchased more four or more Commander Compendiums prior to the patch will receive and gold refund that will be sent via in-game mail. These refunds should be sent to eligible players later today or tomorrow. If you believe you’re eligible for a refund and haven’t received it after 48 hours since the the patch went live (roughly 12:00 PM PDT), go ahead and submit a ticket at our support site so we can look into it.

If you had the Living World story active and wish to work on your Personal Story instead, you will need to open the Story Journal tab in your Hero panel, then click the “My Story” button to expand the menu. From here, click the “Continue This Story” button to set your active quest from Living World to Personal Story.

After this patch whenever i go into stealth on my thief my incinerator and chaos gun gets wierd grafic trails. Also it seems the patch makes the game run slower when there is a lot of people around, never had any problem pre patch ( i have a high-end pc )

I would report that first part as a bug in the game. You can do this by clicking on Support in the main menu and then clicking on the “Report a Bug” button. As for the performance issue, I would recommend contacting Tech support for assistance. You can reach the support site here: https://help.guildwars2.com/home

If I understand this correctly we will now be able to collect from TP anywhere in the map right? So the trading Post Expresses I got from Black Lion chests are gonna be rendered pointless is that true? And is there a way to refund/swap these if this is the case?

That is not correct. You still have to speak to a Black Lion Trading Company NPC to pick up goods that you purchased from the Trading Post.

have there been any changes made to targeting (the action of selecting the closest target)? with the new patch foes are being selected behind walls, on other floors or behind my character a lot… :-/

There were changes made to targeting regarding world bosses, but this should not affect targeting outside of world boss encounters (to my knowledge). I would consider this a potential bug and report it in-game and/or in the forums.

Well, the problem is, I don’t know whether to ask my question here or post it as a bug because I have no idea what the intention was.

I paid money for mini pets.

I expect to be able to show them off like Timmy shows off his sword skin. My mini pets are extensions of how I want the world to see my character, whether they want to see it or not. I don’t particularly like surf board sized swords, but I at least respect that some folks do and want to show them off.

As such, mini pets should follow the same rules for culling that showing a player and their armor and weapons does. I should always see my pet, unless I under water and it can’t swim, and that part might well be a bug. But beyond that, if I have my pet out, and he culling system decides to show me to you with all my proper armor textures and weapons, then at that point, you should see my mini.

So, if this is a bug and it is supposed to work as I described, then I’ll let it go at that. If it is not, and you have no intention of changing it back, and mini pet purchases are now not to be treated as highly valued as a weapon skin purchase, then we need to talk about what your plans are for allowing anyone that is unhappy with this to return every mini pet and pack we bought over the last two years for a full refund.

I bought my minis so I could see them, and everyone else. I expect them to work with the same reliability and rules that a purchased armor, weapon or outfit skin would perform

This would be feedback and not a bug. I would suggest starting a thread in the forums to discuss this particular topic.

Hello! I seem to be unable to access the gem store and trading post. Attempting to do so the first time results in a popup behind my game window that reads as follows:
“Unhandled page fault on read access to 0xfbecf0d9 at address 0×0043c759.”

If I then close this popup and proceed to open the gem store again, my game crashes completely with a message saying “Timed out while loading page view” or something along those lines.

While this is not exactly a pressing issue, per se, it’s rather inconvenient. Thanks for acknowledging our concerns!

I haven’t gone through the whole lot of the features (low levels / alts, etc.) as of yet, but I’ll point out two of my peeves with this patch.

The first is the login screen. Why does it have a Remember Username and Remember Password check box if it goes and resets them every time? What’s the point in having them there? Please tell me this is glitched.

The second, and this is a biggie for me, is the death-state camera movement. This was fixed for what seemed to be about a year, then all of a sudden, this patch reverts it back to the elevated and circling camera, disregarding your override commands via the mouse. Please revert this back to the way it was pre-patch!

Also, how does one begin the Hero of the People achievement? I’ve used various champ bags of differing rarities and so far there’s no unlock for it.

This is feedback regarding the contents of the Feature Build. Please start or join in a thread related to your feedback on the forums.

For the Hero of the People achievement, you specifically need to obtain the Centaur, Flame Legion, Svanir, Nightmare Court, and Inquest loot bags. More information about this achievement can be found on our wiki: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Hero_of_the_People

Not many bugs that I’ve experienced, although why did they take out the Trading post agent in the human 1-15 map near the start?

I don’t know many people who are happy at all with this patch. It sucks to know I bough a few thousand Gems today, but even with 21 characters, after checking out this patch, the new leveling process really is a pain to even bother with.
I’d make a new thread, but I’m not sure how many Devs check the forums..
It’s appreciated with the work put in, but the way it has been done, is terrible to players who have leveled up over the last few years, to be given this, it’s a joke and tottally off-putting.

What will new players think when they watch the original video promoting how GW2 was meant to be, and then come to this where you get told where to go and what lvl you have to be to even be allowed start your personal story… That just removes the challenge and the fun and the free-will.

[My minis won’t always show because I get the most daftest message “Due to popularity, we cannot display miniatures”. :/
Is that a BUG?]

I got one question in relation to this reddit post: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2g02mx/the_personal_story_doesnt_make_sense_since_the/

For the record, I have already played Apatia’s quests and Tonn’s quests but from what I have seen, it looks as if you cut down certain story bits as you are going over the New Player Experience. I’d like to know if this is deliberate or is this a bug. If it IS deliberate, I’d appreciate a response as to why this is the case as I thought the Personal Story despite it’s flaws is fantastic.

These types of changes were a design decision. As a support agent, neither I nor other support agents know the details or reasoning behind these types of changes. I would recommend creating or contributing to a thread on the forums related to this change to express your feedback and concerns.

Pardon me but, the person you responded to said they were level 28. Players need to be level 80 to activate the living story.

The correct answer is that the personal story was broken up into chapters. Chapter 1 starts at level 10, meaning you can’t start the personal story until level 10. I think each chapter opens up every 10 levels after that. So what most likely is happening to liquidtornada.3026 is he/she needs to be level 30 before they can continue the personal story.

Ah, thanks for catching that, liquidtornada.! Seems that I missed it in my initial reading of the post. My apologies for any confusion, Charrbeque!

A couple questions:

There are a few weapon and armor skins for which the Personal Story was the only way to obtain them, such as Marauder armor, the Apostle chestpiece, and the Studded helm and shoulders. Unfortunately, data regarding how the Personal Story rewards were changed is still spotty. Are these skins still available through Personal Story? If not, are there any plans to make them obtainable again?

The 8/27 news post claims that the feature pack changes item drop rates so gear unusable by your profession have a lower chance to drop, but the patch notes make no mention of this. Was this change implemented or canceled?

It looks like these were moved around to different level story quests, but they should still be available as reward options.

The change for gear drop rates was indeed implemented.

That policy is unacceptable. I just looked up all my purchases in the GW2 Gem Store, and the total for two years is $2964.30 USD. If it is ANet’s policy to allow core functionality changes to items that are purchases from the Gem store in this manner, then I can see my purchasing habits to drop to $0. And I am sure that I am not the only one that is extremely upset over this caviler attitude towards the customers that continue to enjoy and fund this game.

I have opened a support ticket over this also, and the first reply did not even touch the subject that I brought up in my ticket, rather they cut/pasted all the changes, and how to put the minis in the wardrobe. That is completely insulting as well.

A recent update addressed the issue where minis were being excessively hidden in areas with higher population. If you still wish to discuss the matter further, please do so in the ticket that you have opened.

As mentioned here, I should file a ticket if I feel the amount of commander refunds I was issued was incorrect. I am being told I only had 8 commanders when I know for a fact that I had nine. I had one for each class and a second mesmer. The toon names are:

Sawnec – Asura Mesmer
Sawneck – Charr Ranger
Sawnek – Charr Engineer
Sawnech – Charr Elementalist
Sawnick – Asura Guardian
Sawnich – Asura Warrior
Sawnec Es Un Gato – Charr Mesmer
Sonnych – Sylvari Necro
Sawnic – Charr Thief

I only was refunded for five of my commanders, when I was supposed to be refunded for six.

It’s ticket number 882758 by the way

I see that your ticket was escalated for a senior member to review. One of these agents will review the situation and get back to you as soon as they are able.

Hi all,

Minis that were not guaranteed, such as minis obtained from the Minis 3-Pack (Set 1, Set 2, Set 3), are not eligible for a refund.

Could you explain why this is so? These seems contrary to EU 2012 code of rights that states:
“Consumers can request repair or replacement free of charge if goods they receive are faulty or do not correspond to what they have ordered. The trader has to repair or replace the good within a reasonable time and with limited inconvenience to the consumer. If the trader fails to repair or replace the good within a reasonable time, consumers may instead ask for a refund or a price reduction.”

In this case it is not the players fault that there is a random element to what we get in packs-that is simply a byproduct of the service provided. Its up to the company , in this case Anet to have a system in place to recover the goods. This is not the problem of the customer.
I will investigate this matter further myself with the proper consumer ombudsman office but I do believe that you are wrong in this.

3 questions based on 9/9 patch

1: Why did the base stats increased by 10 stats?
From 916 to 926 (PVP amulets are also increased due to this)

2: Why did the precision formula changed with this also?
Old formula for precision to crit chance =(Precision – 822) / 21
New formula for precision to crit chance =(Precision – 832) / 21

3: Why did you changed the +% dmg below 50% health on Arcing Slice on the last moment? (intended? )

These are design decisions that were made by the developers. Customer Support did not make these changes to the game, thus we are unable to answer these type of inquiries. If you have concerns regarding the subject, I would recommend creating/joining in on a thread related to the topic to share your ideas. The developers check the forums daily.

There isn’t a new thread about it, and since it’s been mentioned here with GM Talon response, i’ll repeat the concerns myself of another player that has posted here.

My plan was to get mini achievement after patch easely cause megaserver would merge the guild bank of my friend who had all mini’s. So then he would put them in guild bank, i activate them, and boom achievement done (like all 22k+ achievement hunters did). But that is not possible. First of all banking them became impossible (you must bind them wich means one mini can no longer create multiple persons achievements. But worst of all the old ones cannot be improved anymore. This is a little bit unfair, cause we didn’t get a warning about it. I also think it’s a bug, cause why make same achievment, same title twice? You only need it once. This seems like an oversight, something that in the chaos of the feature patch didn’t get fixed in time.

I don’t need a fast fix, however, I would like for Anet, when hotfixes and other stuff stops taking their time, to fix this situation. The best imo would be to remove the old ap’s and just use the new ones. Or you can keep the old ones, but make it possible to progress them also by account binding mini’s. Keeping the old ones, but locking them away is to unfair to achievement hunters who didn’t have the possibility to ‘borrow’ mini’s.

This is feedback regarding changes made to the game with the 9/9 Feature Build. Please create/join in on a thread related to the subject to discuss your concerns and ideas.

Hi,

Since the new feature patch the guild vault in Fields of Ruin has disappeared. It seems the “Summon Guild Vault” item [&AgEYmwAA] has also been removed from the commendation merchant and is no longer purchasable.

Myself, many others in my guild and the map have been wondering what happened to these things. At first we thought it was a bug, so we waited for the hotfixes, but nothing further happened. Hopefully someone can clear this up?

Thanks.

The NPC Lorro in the Fields of Ruin that was once a Guild Banker is now a Black Lion Trading Post NPC. The old BLTP NPC Oscar has been removed. This, as well as the removal of the Summon Guild Vault item, appear to be an intentional decision. As this would have been done by developers, I would recommend either joining in or creating a thread related to the topics to voice any concerns you may have. Developers check the forums daily.

As mentioned here, I should file a ticket if I feel the amount of commander refunds I was issued was incorrect. I am being told I only had 8 commanders when I know for a fact that I had nine. I had one for each class and a second mesmer. The toon names are:

Sawnec – Asura Mesmer
Sawneck – Charr Ranger
Sawnek – Charr Engineer
Sawnech – Charr Elementalist
Sawnick – Asura Guardian
Sawnich – Asura Warrior
Sawnec Es Un Gato – Charr Mesmer
Sonnych – Sylvari Necro
Sawnic – Charr Thief

I only was refunded for five of my commanders, when I was supposed to be refunded for six.

It’s ticket number 882758 by the way

I see that your ticket was escalated for a senior member to review. One of these agents will review the situation and get back to you as soon as they are able.

And just out of curiosity, what happens if they also tell me I only had 8? I’m not the only person with this problem, either, which is slightly troubling.

An issue has been identified with the refund distribution for Commander Compendiums. I will keep an updated status on the progress relating to this issue on the first post of this thread.

Hi Talon,

Some of us have been facing noticable stuttering/spiking FPS issues since the Sept Feature patch. We have submitted tickets and Customer Support has said they are investigating but no news as yet. Wonder if you could help us clear things up on where the problem lies and what is the progress? Thanks.

We are aware of this particular issue and we’re looking into it. We do not have an ETA on a fix at the moment.

I just got a mail saying ‘this mail has a replacement item for one of your characters (or another one, wich you might need to log onto)’.

I logged on all 5 pre-patch commander tag owning characters, the 200g refund, did not come true. The Email is empty (no item or money to accept). Since emails are account boudn, I doubt this however makes a difference, wich character you log into.

The blank mail would have been followed by another mail that contained the gold. Sorry about the blank mail that may have caused confusion.

I’ve received an /extra/ 100g now, I believe. What do I do with it? I don’t want to cheat the system.

Sawnic, I checked your account and the amount is correct. Shopping trip!

Guild Registrar no longer allowed guild bank access. Is this intended? With Fort Marriner contested it makes it a pain in the kitten to access guild bank

Yes, this is intended. If you have feedback regarding this change, I would recommend starting/joining an existing thread about the topic for further discussion.

No sure if it is inteded or is a bug, but in my home instance I no longer have my mining nodes (Candy Corn, Quartz Crystal and Sprocket Generator) if I enter the instance with a not-80 character (in ex an alt). If I enter the instance with my lvl 80 characters I can see my mining nodes. This problem started with 9/9 update.

We are aware of this particular issue and our Quality Assurance team is investigating it further.

Hi there !

I encourage you to pursue this matter fully. I recently had a similar issue with another NCSOFT game and was refused a refund. I took the matter to the ACCC ( the Australian Consumer Commission ) on principal and they contacted NCSOFT who promptly refunded my money. Any EULA does not override your countries statutory consumer rights.

The ACCC is currently suing Valve for breaches of consumer guidelines in Australia for digital game downloads and refusing refunds if the game was buggy, faulty or didn’t match the description of the original product. Clearly in your case, you didn’t get what you paid for.

My query pertains to the Basic Collections (actually all collections) introduced on the 9/9 patch.

I have submitted in-game bug reports of these collections not being able to activate, and various NPC’s not being available to retrieve items from. Also certain vendors not stocking the goods that are required for certain collections either.

Can we get some feedback on this please, or better, an ETA for a fix?

PS: I started a thread on collections a couple of weeks back and no one has come back with anything productive other than ’it’s a bug’.

There’s not much I can say other than these appear to be bugs from what you’re describing. If you have submitted in-game bug reports, then please rest assured that our Quality Assurance team has received them and will look into the matter.
