Corrupted Data Archive

I have no idea what may have caused me to get an error stating there is a problem with the data archive.

For the second time in about 10 days the game said there was a problem with the data archive and went about repairing it. However, this time the whole GW2.exe process got hung up so I killed it and restarted GW2 expecting it to finish repairing the data archive but it did not. The game started normally.

What is causing the corrupted files, and why did the repair not finish?

Hey there,

There’s a number of different reasons why client files can become corrupt. If you find the client keeps trying to repair itself when you start up, or you’re unable to complete a repair, it’s possible the files have become corrupt beyond repair and your best bet would be a complete reinstall.
