Choosing initial home world.

Greetings, I am a brand new player and was brought to GW2 by a friend but I cannot choose their server/home world as my initial home world. They’re on Jade Quarry and it says it’s full. Now I understand that a server can only take so much of a population due to it’s capacity to render graphics, chat, communication from the client to the server and vise versa. But since I purchased the game for the sole purpose of doing both pve and pvp does this mean if I start on a different server that I’m unable to do pvp with my friend? If this is the case how do I get around this issue? Would I have to delete all my characters that I make and remake them later? I’m a little confused about this mega server thing so if anyone would be able to clear things up for me I would be greatful. Thanks in advance.

I feel sure you’ll be able to get on the same world, but it could take a bit of time. Either your friend can move to your current world, or you can wait for space to open up on his world. Keep in mind there’s one world change per 7 days, so you’ll want to strategize where to go and what to do. For instance, the cost of a transfer may be entirely reasonable for him, where you might prefer to use the free transfer option mentioned above. And yes, guesting is another option, too.

Best of luck, and welcome to Tyria!
