Changing email on account - will users be able to do it themselves eventually?

My question is about changing the email address linked to your account. I’ve heard that you can apparently do it by submitting a support ticket and requesting to change your email address. I was wondering if it will eventually be an option under “My Account” to be able to change your email address yourself?

Also, with the current method, do you include the new email address you want to use in your Support Ticket? Or do you just say that you want to change it and then they will respond with some kind of link or something to allow you to change it yourself?

And as I’m typing this, I suddenly started to think about how some GW2 accounts are linked to GW1 accounts by using the same email. So if you change your GW2 account email will that cause any problems with it being linked to GW1? Or will it just change the GW1 email as well?
