Can't link my account to the Authenticator

I decided to put some extra security on my account. But as it turns out, I cannot link the authenticator to my account. I downloaded the app, got the option to either write the code or scan it. I typed it in, i was told to write the 6 digit code to link the account. I got “Code Invalid” in the 6 digit field. Tried once again, with new code. Same issue. “Hm”, I thought, “Maybe I just typed wrong. Maybe I should scan it instead?” SAME ISSUE. I’ve done this several times now, trying to get this to work. But each time I’ve gotten the Code Invalid message in the 6 digit field. Upon scanning, the app recognises the account by name and e-mail. When typing in the code manually, I have to write the account name myself.
