Can't have or change my Order?

I joined the Order of whispers without even understanding what that meant. Just tried to finish my personal story quickly. Later I wanted maybe 1 armor piece from this vigil shop but what do you know, you gotta be a member of the vigil. So basicallyyy I can never ever get that armor piece on my character. How is that fair? Am I missing something? Is it possible to switch Orders?

It sounds like you’re still on the lead up steps to the final choice. Before choosing a permanent order, you’re given a series of branching story steps to give you a chance of trying out the different orders. Each branch offers a choice between two order missions.
