Birthday surprise gone bad!

Last night I purchased an exotic greatsword for my friend’s birthday. When I went to mail it to her, the game would not allow it. The exotic greatsword shows that it’s soulbound on use. When I right click on it my only options are: destroy, preview, or equip. Right before this, I purchased an exotic rifle for a different friend and it mailed just fine without any issues. Is this a known problem? I tried to do a search regarding similar problems, but found none.

Thank you for your time. Any advise on this matter will be greatly appreciated.

Did you upgrade the sword with a sigil or anything similar?

Upgrading any item will soulbind it to you. There’s a warning when you do it but you also get the generic upgrade warning, so you might have missed it.
