Birthday Present Issues [merged]

I created 5 characters on day one of the early release. The very first one has not received a birthday present; however all of the other 4 have.

This character also did have an issue at the beginning of not getting the starting pack either, though I was able to get it by going to the spot in The Undermarket in Hooligan’s Route.

I am just wondering if there was a bug on the very first character or am I just not getting the birthday present on the character for some other reason?

Hey all. Be assured we’re looking into these issues right now. Keep an eye on your in-game mailbox and I’ll post more when I know about this. I don’t think you need to submit a ticket right now, but I’ll update this thread if you need to do that.

Update: One of the devs has identified this is a bug (but it’s sort of isolated, so you guys who got it are extra special ). They are working on a fix. I don’t have a timeframe for the roll out, but what I believe will happen is that you will get your birthday present in your in-game mail. However, we may need you to submit a ticket. So just ignore my speculation and I’ll continue to update as I learn more.

Update: Just confirming you have no worries with this situation! It will be resolved in the very near future, and if your character or characters earned a birthday gift, that gift will be given to you. I do not think you should look for this tonight, but it’s coming!

And the good news is: You do not need to submit a ticket about this situation. (After all, we got the party invitation and know it’s your birthday, and we’d never dream of missing the Big Day! ~ even if we’re a bit late for some of the birthday folks! ~ )

To verify the character’s age, type /age in the chat window and you’ll get exact specs on the character.

Note: This is not account age, this is character age, for the gift is given to your character, in true role-playing fashion.

As for the characters that got or did not get a second gift:

When I was young there were two different ways kids in the family looked at presents at birthdays and Christmas. One way was to open your gift and focus on what you received. For the most part, kids who did this were happy because it would be something they’d asked for and wanted. (sure, there was the occasional pair of socks, but them’s the breaks )

The other way was to open your gift and then start comparing it to what the other kids got. Were the others more expensive? Did you get one item and Bobby got two? (good thing we did not have the internet to instantly check which gift was rated higher on Amazon) For the most part, kids who did this were upset in some way and enjoyed their own presents less.

I prefer the first way.

I appreciate the wisdom that you have imparted. Much the same idea came to my mind, as well.

what about those that transfered servers that got birthdays changed. My birthday was 2 days ago, but the celebration wont hapoen for 3 more months.

With the exception of one character I deleted, alot of these characters I have were within the first month, yet, it shows all of them about the time I transfered servers. So I found the fountain of youth by 3 months.

Changing game worlds does not reset your character’s age.
