Banned for buying gold? Didn't buy gold.

Hello I am posting this for my friend. He went to go sign into Guild Wars 2 and it said he was banned for buying gold. He said that he has never bought gold other than Gems. A few days earlier some of our guild members sent him gold, for a commander hat. The gold was sent in large amounts. Like 60g and 40g. He thinks this is why he had been banned. If you need any information of the account I can give it to you. But the in game name of one of the characters was Brandon Lol. He is hoping to get unbanned or at least know why he got banned as he didn’t do anything wrong. Please help us out with this problem!
