I got an e-mail from [email protected] titled Security Question Reset Request. The e-mail is as follows – ————————————————————————————————————-

I’m pretty sure this is an actual e-mail from the gw2 team, I did what the e-mail requested then promptly changed my password. This being said –
WHY WOULD I BE SUSPECT OF TRYING TO SELL MY ACCOUNT?!!!
I have never said anything in game that would insinuate I want to sell my account or anything on ANY forum that would insinuate this. I do NOT want to sell my account and I am quite curious why ANet would accuse me of trying to sell my account, and send me a threatening e-mail on the topic. I would like a full investigation into what prompted this accusation and I would like to express my extreme disgust with the threatening manner of the e-mail I received. If some random player reported me as trying to sell my account with no grounds for the accusation, I would request that the account which reported me is punished for abusing the reporting system. I paid for this game just like every other player, I put my time into the game to get to where my characters are, while ANet “takes matters of accounts very seriously” I ALSO take the matter of my account very seriously, and if some random angry child can report me and have such repercussions this system is simply ridiculous.

As explained, that is not from us. Pretty much anyone can send an email with any “from” line.

This is why we have a Phishing thread, and an “Email from ArenaNet” thread, as well.
