I received the following this morning, 9/23/14:

Guild Wars 2 Account Will Be Shut Down Inform

We are sorry to inform you that your login account [email protected] will be shut down or partially limited within 72 hours due to currency transactions or abnormal login. If you want to remove restrictions, please click the following link to validate:

Please keep in mind that Guild Wars 2 is a global game with hundreds of thousands of players. This means that standards of behavior must be upheld. For your convenience, you can obtain more information about our rules at the address listed below.

Guild Wars 2 Account Support Team

I clicked on the first link to verify, only I misplaced my serial #. I can furnish anything, except that, to show it’s my account. Weird thing is, I’m unable to log-in to my support account, but can in to my account, which is where I got the following:

AcaciaAVE.5914 – acct name
current login IPs
Authorized Networks

I even have a transaction # from an email sent to from purchasing in-game gems, months ago.

So please I would appreciate what I need to do to stop this shutdown?

TY

It’s a hoax to get you to submit your account credentials. We don’t send warnings.

That is most definitely a phishing e-mail. If you put your log-in or any personal information into any forms that the e-mail may have linked you to, please submit a ticket to our support site (linked below) and ask for an account name change. Select “Account Issue” from the drop-down menu for this particular case. You’ll need to supply us with an e-mail address that has never been associated with your Guild Wars 2 account before as well.

Additionally, ensure that the password to your e-mail account is not the same as the password to your Guild Wars 2 account; individuals who send these types of e-mails usually attempt to log in to the e-mail account first with the information that players provide to steal it in an attempt to better gain control over an account.
