30% off GW2 Promotion bug?

I noticed that there is a 30% off GW2 promotion going on, and I thought its a great chance to buy one for one of my friend as a gift. However, i do not have a credit card but i do have paypal, which is an accepted form of payment. But every time i select paypal as the payment method, the 30% discount is automatically removed. When I click on credit card method after i click paypal, the 30% discount also disappears. Any known fix/workaround to this?

I sent out an email immediately upon seeing this, and we’re working on the issue.

Thanks for your kind instincts in buying the game for a friend. I hope we’ll have this addressed very soon!

So I found out that this is a “display bug” and I’m told you should be able to purchase and although it’s showing the wrong price, you should be charged for the sale price.

If you find that you’re not charged the sale price, please do let us know and we’ll get that sorted out.

This is definitely on the to-be-fixed list!
