Leather Doublet Bid Failed Error 32109

I bid on Resplendent Vestments and was immediately outbid. When I attempted to bid again, I got this error message: "Leather Doublet bid failed. Error 32109"

The error seems to stem from the AH not updating automatically to the current price after being immediately outbid on an item, thus pressing "Bid" and bidding the lowest amount does not outbid the other player.
