[BUG] Outbid on AH

BACKGROUND:
I placed a bid for a ring item on AH by bidding the minimum bid increment for the item. I was immediately informed that I was outbid on the item. "Okay," I figured. I just needed to bid more. So I bid about 4 Beta Bucks more than the current price when setting my "Maximum Bid". Once more, I was immediately outbid. Fair enough. Clearly someone made a pretty high bid on the item.

PROBLEM:
Much to my surprise, however, the "Your Bid" column did not show my new maximum bid of 10 Beta Bucks; I'm fairly certain however that the AH still took that amount from my stash. The "Current Bid" did not increment to the new higher bid that I placed.

BUG:
So maybe I'm only allowed to place one maximum bid. Maybe not. I'm not sure of the intended functionality here, but if it isn't going to accept another bid from me, it shouldn't take my money.

Also, if I'm outbid, should I really have to wait for the auction to end for my money to be returned to me? I feel like this isn't working in quite the same way that, say, an e-bay auction would. (EDIT: in other words, you should be able to drive up the auction price of an item by successive bids and it also shouldn't tie up all of your money in the process)
