GAME LAUNCHER SAYS MY VIDEO CARD, LISTED ON WINDOWS AS ATI RADEON SERIES 5700, DOES NOT SUPPORT THE GAME - IT IS, IN FACT, ATI RADEON 5750

Hi. I had no problem opening the game whether its still downloading or completed. The incompatibility message showed, but after "esc" i was able to play. My OS at the time was windows xp 64 SP2, with radeon driver from a year ago.

I've changed my OS to win7 64 3 days ago, installed the last radeon driver (dated from 25/10/2011) and couldn't play since that. The game just don't open even after the incompatibility message.

My ATI Radeon 5750 is listed in the COMPATIBLE DIABLO 3 VIDEO CARDS, but driver says it's RADEON 5700 SERIES. Maybe it's where the problem lies?

regards,
marcos

Can you post some information about your computer? You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool:

Click on Start
Click on Run
Type in: dxdiag (In Vista, type dxdiag in the search field)
Hit Enter or OK

Click on the Save All Information button at the bottom, and create a dxdiag text file, and copy and paste it all here.

Let's try forcing the refresh rate to match the native recommendation.

Edit this line in your D3Prefs.txt file. It's located in your My Documents\Diablo III folder.

DisplayModeRefreshRate "75"

Change it to

DisplayModeRefreshRate "60"

Then try the game again and see if it shows up.

CommissarSCV,

Do you have the same monitor? His dxdiag indicated it used native settings of "Native Mode: 1440 x 900(p) (59.887Hz)"

Yet his current mode was Current Mode: 1440 x 900 (32 bit) (75Hz)

That's why I suggested the change.

Doko,

"Catalystâ„¢ Version 11.5"

Could you see if 11.11 works properly?
