Error message when cancelling search

I was trying to join a public game on the Leoric quest when I decided to log off. I clicked cancel but it gave me an error message and wouldn't cancel the countdown. I tried twice more and got the same message. After the countdown reached zero the message appeared one more time and then all of my join game buttons were greyed out. I hit escape to return to the previous screen successfully.
