Jar of Souls - gates don't lock to trap me

Found all 4 gates closed around Jar of Souls area, opened all 4 before starting quest. Clicked Jar, all 4 gates stayed open (previously, they all slammed shut).

Don't know if it's intended behavior to have them stay open, but it didn't feel so much like a "trap" when I was able to run out of the area.
