Access to other characters' items in stash

I started playing with a monk, then afterwards began a new wizard character. When I began the game with the new wizard, I was able to access some (if not all - don't remember what I had in the stash) of the equipment my monk had stored in the stash. This included some fairly high level equipment, such as 22 armor chest plates and 20 armor magic helms etc.
