Invisible Chat Problems

Hi there!
The problem i have found is with my interactive (with other players) chat.
For Instance when i type into party chat it will say To [Party]: but it will not display what i typed in. It is also the same in reverse for me as in if a party member types Hello i will only see [Dinx] says: but again will not display any typing. We have experimented with private whispers and the same thing occurs for me. Please note this only happens to me and (as far as i can tell in our 2 player environment) is not affecting the other player at all.

I have included a SS to show you what i mean exactly what i mean.

Hope this helps! :D :D

Hey guys,

I just checked this out on the live Beta and could not reproduce it. All my whispers, Game chat messages, and Party chat messages were appearing correctly.

Is this still happening? If so, please post a new screenshot of it :)

Just wanted to check in real fast and let you know that I have forwarded this information to the Battle.net team. We are aware of the issue, but are mainly doing research on it as it seems to be an account-related issue at this time. This is not happening for everyone, so please bear with us as we work on the problem.

I can't promise any ETAs for a fix at this time.

For everyone in this thread still having this issue:

Please let me know what video card you are using and if your drivers are up to date.

Hey guys,

Sorry for the delay in replying. We have been able to reproduce this internally, but still do not have enough results to identify what exactly is causing the issue.

Some of you have reported that it is only happening on one computer, while others have said on all of their computers. It might be a graphical bug, or it might be network.

Since you guys already gave me some DxDiags and video card information, can you please now give me the name of your internet service provider (Comcast, U-verse, Time Warner, etc.)? This may be a weird ISP issue like that character screen crash back during Friends and Family Alpha.

Thanks for your patience with this. It's a pretty complicated issue that is not affecting all of our users.

Hey guys,

Thank you for providing this info. As was announced at BlizzCon, there will be at least one Beta bug fix patch coming in the future. We hope that those patches will fix this issue as it is no longer happening internally, but I cannot guarantee anything.

Please keep posting about this issue in this thread, and when we finally get a new Beta patch, please start a new thread if it is still occurring post future patch. Thank you so much for your patience!

Hi guys!

Sorry for the late reply on this. Apparently the issue is caused by using the Mature Language Filter in your options.

Try turning that off and let me know if you can read your chat.

I apologize, it looks like I gave you some incorrect information. The Mature Language Filter is enabled in an internal build, so I assumed that it was the same in the Beta build.

In that case, just hold on for a future Beta patch or two :)
