Another chat problem (not the invisible chat)

Summary: Player name appears as [] when switching to a newly created character while private messages are being used.

This happened and was quite confusing so I will record the events to the best of my memory (verbosely, since I'm not sure what the minimal steps are).

- I finished the game for the first time on my Wizard.
- I set the access to 'public' to try it out.
- Someone joined and he suggested I join "his game"
- I left my game and he invited me to his party
- I joined his party and it brought me into his game.
- He was level 2 and I was level 9, so I suggested that I should make a new character.
- I left the game, created a Monk, and then used the 'request invite' feature.

At this point, there was no feedback on my request. I then tried to invite him and again there was no UI feedback. He messaged me saying that he couldn't invite me because my name was [] (two brackets). (I'm pretty sure this isn't the invisible chat thing, right?)

So then we spent quite a while fumbling around to try to get it to work...

- I logged off and on again. Did not work (meaning that I couldn't request to join his party nor could he invite me)
- I exited D3 and restarted it. Did not work
- I deleted my Monk and recreated it. Did not work
- Finally, we both exited D3 simultaneously and that worked (he was able to invite me).

Other notes are that we were communicating via private message most of this time, though when I relogged, I messaged him using the Recent tab in the Social panel.

That pretty much sums it up. This was yesterday (9/28/11) during the day.

Hope that helps!

Hey Jerji,

Is this still happening? If it is, can you post a screenshot please?

Thank you!
