Home Stretch vs. Final Stretch

So Jay Wilson has recently gone on record to claim D3 is in the "Home stretch". In terms of measurement of time, I'm curious how this compares to a "Final stretch"? As you may know, Dustin Browder went on record to say StarCraft 2 was in the "Final Stretch in Feb. of '09, only to have the game release 1.5 years later.

Are you in a position to confidently make a quantifiable comparison between the two? And at what point will we venture into a "Final Countdown"?
