Please join me in welcoming Kaivax, our newest community manager!

Kaivax brings with him a wealth of game and community experience. A self proclaimed Diablo-lover (aren't we all?) he's also eager for the 1.3 StarCraft II patch, continuing to work up the ladder, and getting those last few achievements. In addition his experience in the World of Warcraft community will surely be invaluable as we move into 4.1 and beyond. He'll be here with the rest of us, day in and day out to collect your feedback, talk about the games, shout out on Twitter and Facebook, and write up articles for the front page blog.

If taken correctly Kaivax can provide a sense of calm and euphoria. In a small number of cases Kaivax caused eye irritation and a sense of bewilderment. Taking Kaivax while raging may result in a loss of appetite and posting privileges. Consult your code of conduct before challenging Kaivax. If Kaivax posts more than four times, consult a blue tracker.

Here's your first official User Test. If you pass this test, I approve (and no looking it up online)!!!:

You've got 4 people who need to cross a bridge. They're all one side. You've 17 minutes to get them all across to the other side. Since it's night time, they require a flashlight to get over. Here are your restraints:

1. A max of 2 people can cross the bridge at one time.
2. Any crossing that is made must hold the flashlight.
3. Person 1 takes 1 minute to cross the bridge, P2 takes 3 minutes, P3 take 5 mins, P4 takes 10 minutes.
4. A pair must walk at the same rate as the slower of the two.

Can you get all 4 on the other side in 17 minutes?

Yes. Any pair of them cross the bridge with the flashlight. They then throw the flashlight back to the others. The others then cross. Depending on which two go first, the total time required will be 13-15 minutes, plus the time required to throw and retrieve the flashlight.

If you disallow flashlight-throwing, the minimum time it can be carried out within your rules is 20 minutes.
