Number of characters slots?

Has Blizzard ever said how many character slots were allowed? I remember Bashiok saying something about an achievement for having 20 characters at 60, but that's as far as I've ever seen anything about the subject.

I'd preferably like to have enough slots for 3 of each class, but I guess 2 for each would be okay. Oh and infinite would definitely be BEST but I doubt that would be the case.

Anyone know?
