Time goes on, and those days are still fond to me. I chose to get out of the military, my buddy stayed in (he retires this year), and still we play your games. We attend Blizzcon every year, and we're just a huge fan of your work.
To the point of my post...
My daughter is now just about 12 years old, she loves your games (damn you for having pets for sale in WoW). I have recently started playing Diablo again, however this time I'm bringing her along for the journey, and I'm slowly bringing her through the storyline, taking my time so she can absorb the pure awesomeness of the story you have created. Tonight, we have just finished Act I (the Fall of Tyrael). I cannot express to you how much she is enjoying this. She's extremely engaged, asking me questions why Tyrael chose to descend, what's that book that Leah is holding, etc... Diablo has become a great bonding experience (yes, there are other ways to bond, so go flame somewhere else, trolls).
So, I then pulled out my copy of the "Book of Cain" that I got signed from Brom. I showed her, "I have a copy of that book...." I think she literally crapped her pants! I then told her to flip the the last page and "look, there's a sealed envelope that I have never opened in years"...
I'm going to let her open it, but she has to earn it first..... After she finishes Reaper of Souls, then I'll let her open it....
Either way, I'll stop ranting. I just want to say thank you, Blizzard. You've provided me literally close to two decades of enjoyment and this means so much more to me now that it's happening to my daughter.
Love all you guys (and gals)!
