While playing a barbarian on single player I switched my melee attach from one fury generator to another. (bash to cleave) The 30 second cooldown began, but I didn't wait for it to be up to continue killing demons. Despite it being on cd rage was generated with each attack. The animation and damage was that of a normal attack, but each swing was generating the rage of the ability.
I am not sure if normal melee attacks generate rage, but I was under the impression that only skills generated rage. This was easily repeatable any time I switched skills.
