loot disappears?

So my inventory was full and started to drop stuff on the ground in town to come back later to salvage. I came back and it was all gone!! just poofed, gone no where to be found. Is this intended or a bug? that would be awful if this actually happened after release, what if you just loose your best item?

Hi Supreme,

We are currently talking to the item designers to see if it is intended that items that are dropped on the ground disappear. If that is intended, I will let you know how long the timer is until they disappear.

For now, I would recommend not dropping items on the ground and instead putting them in your Shared Stash for safe keeping.
