FPS display doesn't show if in letterbox mode

I run 1920x1200 -- if I change to letterbox, I can't get FPS to display -- it may be that it is rendered only in the top left corner, which gets truncated in this view. When I turn off letterbox aspect ratio, FPS shows up fine.
