Error Retrieving Achievement Data

I am getting no achievements. When i try to bring up the achievement screen all i get is an error that says "There was an error retrieving achievement data". If i hit OK, i get what looks like the achievement fields, with some blank boxes/slots, but the text says "[PH] This text should be replaced with game data". It was working for me a few patches ago (before Christmas) and is working for my friend in the same game as myself.

I have seen a couple posts on this before, but no resolutions to it.
