Your first Starmetal Kukri.
I've read/experienced/noticed quite a bit of negativity - perhaps not just recently - but certainly since 2.2 changed spirit walk, demoralized Jade, and the Zuni change/bonus was a decent step but not a huge fix for us. We are still mostly at the bottom, though it is nice to see Carnevil be a potential, even welcome, top build. Yes, things still need to change for us. But, in the meantime...
In following this thread here:

... it reminds me of why I like to play WD and how the class has evolved; it also seems to me that there is something good - perhaps even a little different - about those of us who choose WD as our main class.
It's interesting to see how things change over the course of the different patches - and most are coveting that Ancient Dagger of Darts these days.
However, that ceremonial knife that was once - and perhaps still is for some - the Holy Grail of Witch Doctor weapons, the Starmetal Kukri is still one of the game's most coveted and rare items. Even though I have found several, even one ancient, I STILL get butterflies in my stomach when one drops.
So, I would like to hear your personal stories of your first time you found that SmarMeeKukaburra (as my gf affectionately nicknamed it b/c of a run-in I had with an actual Kookaburra on a research trip - noisy little bastages...).
Take me back to when it first dropped, popped in your inventory from Kadala, or was gifted to you by another giving Witch Doctor - where you were, what you were doing, and perhaps most importantly, your reaction. Even if the roll turned out bad (I am sorry) - how did you first feel when you saw it?
If you have had the fortune to acquire an ancient SMK, then please relate that story too.
I don't expect these to all be positive responses, but it would be nice to have some positive and happy thoughts around this forum again.
And - for those of you who have yet to find your SMK... it will happen. And when it does, PLEASE - for the love of Diablo 2 - necro(mancer)-bump this thread, and tell me about it.
Cheers
Mike
